Symbology is a leader in barcode technology. Founded in 1980 as one of the first companies dedicated to helping consumer goods manufacturers and printers correctly format and print barcodes, Symbology played a key role in pioneering the widespread use of UPC codes and coupon barcodes in the retail marketplace.
By 1985, Symbology had developed into a leading source of flawless DigiCode® digital barcode files. Barcode label printing capabilities were added by 1996, followed by a superior system of sequence management. Since then, the company has continually taken steps to meet the product requirements for a variety of specialty industries, including gaining certification as an ISBT blood label vendor in 2005. Today, we also offer barcode verification equipment that helps printers and packagers inspect the quality of every single barcode produced.
In 2007, Symbology developed a set of products and services to help coupon issuers implement the new GS1 DataBar™ Coupon code. Our capabilities now include on-line ordering, supplemental formats, data validation tools and family code management.
In 2009, the online digital barcode ordering system was expanded to incorporate a full range of additional linear and 2D barcode symbologies.
